The Marian Missionary Retreat Centre has always been a place of welcome — a quiet haven where individuals and groups can step away from daily life to rest, pray, and reflect.
Today, we are facing an urgent and unexpected challenge.
Earlier this year, our main water pump — now more than 30 years old — broke down. Although engineers were able to carry out temporary repairs, we were advised that the system had reached the end of its lifespan and would need full replacement. Sadly, the pump failed again in September, and we are now relying on a single remaining unit that cannot be repaired if it breaks down.
Water is essential to daily life at the Retreat Centre. Without a reliable supply, we would be unable to welcome guests or continue our ministry of hospitality.
The cost of replacing the water pump system is £13,200, and as a small religious community we do not have the reserves to meet this expense alone. For this reason, we have launched a GoFundMe appeal and are humbly asking for help.
If you are able to support us — whether through a donation or by sharing the appeal with others — we would be deeply grateful. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to securing the future of the Retreat Centre.
